Jagged Edge Gear Roundup: Summer 2025

From belay glasses to traction boards, Jagged Edge has everything you need to get outside in the San Juans.

During the summer, our walls are lined with via ferrata lanyards, packs, and apparel. Behind the register, there is an assortment of climbing gear. The back of our shop is teeming with trail runners, approach shoes, and hiking boots. And don't forget, Jagged Edge Mountain Gear has a second floor too!

Although it’s hard to choose a favorite, the Jagged Edge crew tried to narrow down some of their go-to summer gear from the shop in the list below:

Erik’s Choice: Katadyn BeFree 0.6L Water Bottle

Earlier this summer, when Erik sat down to chat all things Jagged Edge in our very first Notes from the Field blog, he was quick to praise the filtered water bottle from Katadyn BeFree 0.6L.

“That’s a tough one,” Erik said. “The Katadyn water bottles that you can just fill in a stream. I use that every single day - spring, summer, and fall. Walking with my dogs or hiking with my dogs. That’s one of my favorite things we sell because I use it all the freaking time.”

Whether hiking with your dogs or trail running, fast packing, or mountain biking, this is a go-to piece of gear to have in your pack. It’s compact, ultralight, and most importantly, it filters bacteria, cysts, and sediment.

Jon’s Choice: Totem Cam

If you know Jon, then you know his favorite piece of gear is something off Jagged Edge’s extensive climbing wall.

And so enters the Totem cam. Totems' patented Direct Loading system ensures it's one of the top-performing pieces of gear in the trad climbing space.

Dave’s Choice: Jagged Edge Jibby Cross Body

Did you know Dave has called Jagged Edge home for over 15 years? This means he has tested, owned, and repped plenty of made-in-Colorado Jagged Edge pieces and packs. And one of his favorites this summer is the Jagged Edge Jibby Cross Body.

Made with Ultragrid fabric, the Jibby is durable and lightweight. Its versatile carry makes it an ideal companion for hiking, festivals, and around-town use.

Jolly’s Choice: Bedrock Sandals

We’ve seen Bedrocks romping on the river, hiking at Island Lake, running the Bolder to Boulder, but, probably most consistently, on Jolly's feet this summer.

And why not? Bedrocks are adjustable, durable, and capable of adventuring. Bedrocks can be worn everywhere!

Sean’s Choice: SOLtube

Sean is the sultan of SOL. He loves all things from the locally-owned water sports company, including the SOLtube.

The SOLtube is a durable force on all forms of water, from the San Miguel River to the snow.

Catch Sean floating on the hot pink Lynx SOLtube this summer.

Mads’ Choice: Norrona Senja Flex 4" Shorts & La Sportiva Prodigio

Hi, hello, it’s me! My summer is miles and trails this year, and the La Sportiva Prodigio makes the slogs just a little bit better. These trail runners have the perfect amount of response and cushion for my feet.

This summer, I couldn't just pick one beloved piece of gear. And since I'm the one writing this little diddy, rules don't apply.

would be remiss in not shouting out the Senja running shorts from Norrona. I’m officially a part of the no built-in underwear camp, and happy to be here if it means rocking and rolling in the Senjas all summer long. Plus, each goo pocket fits an ample amount of dog treats for my running buddy.

Dave Mac’s Choice: Exped Megamat Duo

Direct from the Exped source: “Mega in size, comfort and warmth, MegaMat is the ultimate sleeping mat for campers and overlanders who want a premium, reliable, best-in-class sleep experience."

Dave Mac needs his quality sleep - or else!

Jula’s Choice: Skida Brim Hat

Do you even live in Telluride if you don’t have Skida in your gear arsenal?

Jula, Telluride born and bred, wears it in the shop and romps around in the San Juans rocking her Skida Brim Hat. We love a piece of gear that’s not only functional, but also fashionable.

Dalton’s Choice: Camp Pink Tri-cam AND BD Knife Blade

Fun facts about Dalton: He loves Phish and climbing. So naturally, his go-to gear this summer is the DMM Offsets.

"Alloy Offsets protect irregular and flared cracks that regular nuts cannot," according to DMM. "Every size of Alloy Offset has a robust 12kN strength rating. The wires they are mounted on are set into a recess to reduce wear, while larger sizes have holes that reduce weight. Use in conjunction with Wallnuts for comprehensive all-season crack protection.

Bryce’s Choice: Dynafit Ultra 100

While Bryce is a man of few words, he perked up about the Dynafit Ultra 100s when asked what his favorite piece of gear is this summer. And in true Bryce fashion, we’ll leave it at that!
